Best Time to Visit Spain
The best time to visit Spain is generally April–June & September–October. This season-by-season guide covers peak, shoulder and low season, the weather you can expect, the festivals that fill hotels and what to pack.
Weather in Spain
Hot, dry inland summers and warmer, humid coasts. Spring and autumn are the best sightseeing windows; southern Spain stays mild through winter.
Peak, shoulder and low season
Peak season runs July–August, with the highest flight and hotel demand. Shoulder season (April–June and September–October) offers similar conditions with thinner crowds. Low season (November–March, away from the Canary Islands) is the cheapest, with less predictable weather or reduced opening hours at some attractions.
Festivals and holidays
Semana Santa, Las Fallas (March), San Fermín (July) and August holidays drive up prices in the cities that host them.
What to pack for Spain
Sun protection and light layers; a jacket for northern Spain outside summer.
